ACT-SL-1240 is a high-density, high-activity, coconut shell based activated carbon manufactured by steam activation process mainly used for Hydrocarbon Removal in Condensate Water.
BACKGROUND
Large volumes of demineralized water are used around the world in boilers for generating steam for power plants and oil and gas industry. As the water resources are getting scarce and expensive the boiler steam condensate is recycled in all industries to be used as boiler feed water.
In order to recycle the condensate water for reuse all the contaminants in the water like various oils, hydrocarbons so that its deposition is prevented on the blades of turbines or boiler tubes which will lead to wear and tear and breakage of equipment leading to long break downs leading to heavy losses.
In the selection of the right carbon, the amount of silica or the silica leach is very critical as the silica is found to be a deterrent which will also affect the smooth operation as it will also deposit on the boiler tubes and turbine blades leading to damage and break down.
ACT-SL-1240 activated carbon successfully removes these various contaminants in both fresh water and recycled water, protecting the ion exchange resins, boiler and other sensitive equipment from damage and deterioration. Advantage is that ACT-SL-1240 can be used directly without any prewash and can be directly used for the application which will reduce the startup time and water loss during start up.
