CT-MUD (PHPA) Partially Hydrolyzed PolyAcrylamide
DESCRIPTION
CT MUD (PHPA) is a co polymer designed to provide cutting encapsulation and Shale Stabilization. It is a water-soluble polymer, which is primarily used as a highly efficient fluid loss reducer, viscosifier and protective colloid for shale and cutting in fresh water, calcium, sodium brines and KCL mud systems. It is compatible with most of the drilling fluid products, biopolymers, PAC, CMC etc. It maintains hole stability by preventing shale swelling and erosion.
It maintains viscosity in solid free drilling fluid. It can be used as a bentonite extender in low solids non-dispersed mud.
APPLICATIONS
It functions as an inhibitor by coating or encapsulating formation & cuttings.
It also restricts the interaction of water hydratable & dispersible shale
It can be used as a flocculent in clear water drilling.
It also provides inhibition properties to fresh water, sea water and also inpresence of calcium ions
USAGE
It can be premixed or added directly to the fluid via centrifugal mixers.Typical Concentration is 0.25-2 lb/bbl (0.7-5.9 kg/m3), a slightly higher concentration may be required in Salt water mud
