CACARB (F/M/C) Calcium Carbonate Powder
Product Description:
CACARB Calcium Carbonate is used as an acid soluble weighting agent in work over and completion fluids. Four different grades 100, 200, 300 and 400 mesh are supplied which differ only in their particle size distribution. It is a Finely ground white crystalline powder free from dirt and grits.
Chemical Nature:
Marble CaCo3, Molecular weight 100.1
Applications
As weighting agent CaCo3 can be used to extend the brine’s maximum weights. As a bridging agent, the correct blend of 100, 200, 300 and 400 mesh grades can be used effectively seal the pores in the production formation, thus minimizing the invasion fluid. Because the material is derived from marble a metamorphic and highly crystalline form of calcium carbonate it does not break down in the high shear conditions encountered in drilling. Breakdown of weaker materials derived from other sources, leads to increased invasion of the producing formation
